Kid Rock Flat Out Rocks on the Grammy Telecast

The first time I laid eyes on Kid Rock I began counting to myself "15, 14, 13, 12, 11...", well you get the point. I thought he was a poser who didn't deserve one second of his fame. I was wrong. Watching him at the Grammys is a revelation. I saw him last May, but man, he nailed his performance and didn't just give a sampling of his record, but showed everyone that he is someone to take seriously.

As he sung his intro to "Amen" you could feel the anger brimming off his vocal chords almost as if he wanted to punch a whole in the wall. That same anger I felt on U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday", Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A" and now "Amen". Written at the urging of Rick Rubin, it is one of Rock's best songs and tonight on the Grammy show, he proved to everyone that he is no flash in the pan. He's not just an artist with talent, but one I believe. In recent years, I have had a hard time believing the sincerity of many acts as they say one thing and do another. Kid Rock has put his money where his mouth is. He offers cheap concert tickets, reasonable priced merchandise and appears to be more in touch with the common man than most rock stars.
