Japan Disaster

A friend of mine shared a link to a website that had an article on the devastation that is currently taking place in Japan. I watch the news almost all the time so I usually am in the loop about situations happening around the world but this event really did make me stop and think. I believe that most of us do walk around thinking that we are such a strong force and nothing can really happen to us especially in countries where it is very rare to have any earth tremors, or extreme conditions. I could not imagine what I would do if I was placed in a situation like that and I understand that the Japanese people are very organised and expect to have these sorts of extremities (well not this extreme but they are prepared for extremities such as earth tremors etc) but that doesn’t mean that I may not be in a country when such things happen. It makes you realise that no matter what we build, how strong we are, how much planning we put into something, there is always something that can happen to take that away. It was such a beautiful day here in London today and it made me realise how lucky I am to be living where I am, doing the things I am doing because it could one day just be taken away in a few seconds.

My thoughts are with Japan and I hope from the bottom of my heart that there are minimal fatalities and that all the places affected can get back to their usual daily lives soon. I know that in all reality it is going to take a while but I hope that the whole world learns from this truly horrible event and that even though there will always be some force above us that can take things away from us, when it does we can limit it and learn from it.
